Willoughby Spit Ahoy! Gentlemen o’ Fortune & Lasses THE LEGEND: A hurricane on October 19, 1749 washed up an 800 acre sandspit just west of Ocean View. Welcome To Willoughby
Willoughby is close to Naval Station Norfolk one of the largest Naval Stations Supporting the US Atlantic Fleet. I have lived here over a decade now. I enjoy all that this area has to offer. There are many places to go to as well as things to do both locally or in the neighboring cities.
I will be posting photographs we have taken of both Willoughby other Historical Sites in and around the Norfolk Virginia area. This is a great area for learning about the early history of the United States and its first colonies. On this site, I have created some 180 & 360 views of the beach and historic sites. I hope it will give you a richer experience and better view of the beautiful sceneries in our area.

Willoughby is an unique place to live. It’s land mass runs closely east to west at the tip. We get the sunrise and sunsets over the water. The Willoughby Bay area is a great place for sailing, kayaking, jet skiing, fishing and other salt water activities.
